ABOUT
Contemporary artist — painting, mixed media & installations
Céline Chat is a French contemporary artist based in Guadeloupe.
Through painting, drawing and mixed media, she creates layered works inspired by travel, islands, memory and light. Her practice moves between abstraction and figuration, where recurring symbols—houses, surfboards, vegetation, words and silhouettes—become fragments of personal and collective memory.
After living and traveling between France, California, Brazil and the Caribbean, her work has been exhibited internationally in venues connected to contemporary art and surf culture, including the International Surfing Museum (California), Alma Surf Festival (Brazil), MIACS Biarritz and several galleries in France.
She lives and works in Guadeloupe, where light, landscape and island memory continue to shape her practice.
